These specs will allow you to enjoy all that Ship of Heroes has to offer.

We confidently recommend these specifications because several members of our team routinely play on computers with these specifications and consistently have the experience we want to provide.

It may be that a weaker computer provides as good an experience, but we do not have enough data to make this claim. If you do, please feel free to post on our forum thread on the topic.

This is almost the minimum specification we have tested, and the minimum to play the game. A 900 series GPU card is insufficient. Ship of Heroes was originally designed to provide at least 30 FPS on this minimum spec, and it does. However, it will not likely give you both the highest quality graphics and the highest FPS at the same time. We have less data on computers with these specs as the GTX 1080 was launched 9 years ago and has long been surpassed.
Fortunately, you have the option to prioritize what matters to you most when you make adjustments in the SoH system menu.

Our tests indicate that laptops with these specs will also play the game well. On a laptop, the amount of RAM makes a difference though. Ship of Heroes plays as well on a desktop with 16GB of RAM as with 32GB on the recommended system above, for example. On a laptop, the experience is good with 16GB and better with 32GB.

If you intend to stream, we recommend using a desktop with the recommended specification. The minimum specs to play the game may not provide a good experience streaming, especially if it is on a laptop.

The quality of your internet connection affects your experience. But have you considered that what shares it with the game you play also affects it? Social media platforms, Discord, software that synchs constantly to the cloud…Anything in those categories shares your internet access. If your computer is borderline and you are not getting the experience you need, consider shutting down some of the other programs while you play or moving them to another device.

If you are considering upgrading your computer, anything at the recommended spec or above will provide you with a good Ship of Heroes experience. If, however, you are on a tight budget, we recommend prioritizing RAM, then GPU, and last CPU, at least for your experience playing Ship of Heroes.

We intended to develop a game with quality graphics that could be played on a main stream gaming computer. We are confident we have succeeded on both accounts.
