2018 – Accelerating to Lightspeed The Year in Review
It’s been a very good year for our Ship of Heroes team. Despite some delays, we’ve surpassed every challenge and pushed forward, moving ever closer to launch. Those of you who were with us all year have seen extremely rapid, visible progress, resulting in a prototype game that more than 200 of you, our supporters, were able to log into and test in 2018. Here are some of the year’s highlights:

Registration for the First Login Test
On December 15th, at about 10 in the morning eastern time, we’re going to conduct a login test with Ship of Heroes supporters and devs.
In 2017, we gave a group of supporters a chance to try out the first version of our Character Creation Tool (CCT). Earlier this year, we did a series of team combat Alpha runs. Now we’re about to conduct our third Alpha activity: a large-scale login test in which up to 100 players can log into Ship of Heroes simultaneously.

Restorative Nanites Powerset
The 30th of November marks six years since City of Heroes closed. Today we are releasing a video showing our first version of a new support powerset focused on healing and buffing, as an homage to CoH.

FPS Success in SoH
This newsletter is quite different from what we’ve published in the past. First off, this is part one of a series of four newsletters in which we’ll share some really good news. Second, we’re going to do something that is very rare for a game at our stage – we’re going to publish some of our current, internal FPS numbers, and we’re going to share what we think these numbers mean.

2018 Halloween Video
Happy Halloween, Ship of Heroes supporters! The arrival of Halloween kicks off the holiday season for many of us, and Halloween will be one of the three confirmed special event periods aboard the Justice. Last year we showed off the Dark Magic Blast powerset for Halloween, and this year we’re going to demo two mechanics we plan to have after the launch of the game.
