I like your description ... but you need go further and say " lay down on the compass facing the sky or the point-ee part of the ship ...under the Arch with you head on the north side ... and you feet on the south side ... with your arms stretched out left east and the right west ... then you will have the Starboard side of the ship on the right or east ... if your rebellious then lay face down ... and mess us all up

When I was at Decimomannu air base on the island of Sardinia in Italy during the mid 80's. I was there when the U.S. bombed Kadafi in Tripoli so 85 or 86. I saw British Harriers take off and land. they would just hover turn circles and go in for a landing. The show offs. it was very cool.
but my favorite plane to this day is the A-10 Warthog. I was a munitions guy. that 30mm gun could actually stop the plane when it fired. those rounds could cut through tanks like a hot knife through Swiss cheese. and I saw them turn on a dime when I was in Korea, (war games, they were strafing our base) never saw a plane turn like that before or since. Oh and they were quiet... well when you worked the flight line quiet is a relative term. they were much quieter than any of the other planes.

The planes would turn turn in staggered formation, and the engines would go to full AB. Then the pilot let off the brakes, and they would fire the JATO bottles.
It was awe inspiring. FLAME AND SMOKE AND MORE NOISE THAN YOU THOUGHT WAS POSSIBLE! And then the Phantoms would roll forward about 300 feet, the pilots would yank on the sticks, and they took off STRAIGHT UP IN THE FRIKKING AIR! In under two minutes the JATOS shut off and the Phantoms disappeared into the night.
HOLY SCHMOW! What a performance. Rather than a brick with jets, I always thought of a Phantom as the airborne equivalent of a motorcycle; an engine strapped to a seat that goes really, really fast!

F4 Phantom's were proof positive that bricks could fly if you applied enough thrust. I was Air force. you got me on the bells.

Huh! Every now and then someone comes up with something that seems so obvious that you kick yourself for not thinking of it. This is one of those times. Only issue now is, which side is the red light on...
okay but everyone is thinking two dimensional as if it were a sea going vessel you have starboard, port forward and aft. however because of the direction the ship is going forward is up while aft is down. so we are still missing two directions.
so perhaps North, South, East, and west would be more apt for the ship. unless someone can come up with two other directions for the ship?

Now Glad sits at the bar and is being mopey... Eulb signals to the bartender to bring a beer as he points to GladDog, then turns to 'Dog and says, "What's up with your sister? She comes in and utterly destroys a robot, and then her clothes burn up. I guess he's your brother, Doc had a dress in his storage and gave it to her, and then she left with my wife so they could shop... man, if I had not gotten all this Dust off of that asteroid, I would be one broke dude about now."
"Just like Doc, always prepared. She's adopted. It was just me and 'Doc and mom and dad, but mom got called back to Earth right after they adopted her. It's been like 20 years and the Justice has missed connections with mom eight times. So dad did his best to raise her, but they call him Gladzilla, because he can get mean and ugly in a fight. He was lost trying to raise a girl. Our neighbors helped, but 'Nessy wasn't a very girly girl."
Eulb thinks that now he understands, but he is still lost why she is so... dangerous.
"If you are wondering why she is such a terror, it goes back to high school. She was dating a senior guy when she was a junior, and they seemed like they were a match made in heaven. All they talked about was going to the Hero Academy. He got in, but then he was booted out for hurting a cadet. His name was James Tallman."

'Dog turns to Eulb and says, "Oh yeah, you want to get on her bad side? Flip her skirt. James used to do that all the time as a joke."
Another bit of understanding hits Eulb's brain.
"Doc and I, we look out for her. But it's like herding cats, you know?"
as i enter the starboard lounge i say to X-307 " A round for all " " I just got back from that asteroid we passed and MAN what a haul... got my fill of fighting and filled up my UN-dust bag .... BUT wait i found a vain of Quicksilver and its going to net me quite a pretty profit at the retro-fitters in the up grading some of our older arsenal ..... eat your heart out GladDog , and Consultent .....
Spinning around i catch a glimpse of Gladness 's naked-ness and quickly avert my eyes ... hope'n that i'll not be the recipient of her wrath .... this little one can truly be a real ultra-violent warrior... i do not want to contend with ...
I catch a still convulsing bar-tender X-307 in the corner of my eye .... WELL looks like it didn't get the AARPaugmented automation robot parts
When Penniguin looks at her she can see the pleading look in her eyes; 'Ness never got to be much of a girly girl growing up, and needs help with being stylish!

(IC) Suddenly a black clad gray skinned girl wearing a short skirt falls into the bar breathing heavily - it's Gladness! It seems she wore herself out just getting here! She looks over and see that Golden Stone has the robot's attention, and that Ebon Angel has the robot caught in tentacles. Dr Glad hits her with Recovery Aura and Fortitude and then sits back to watch the show!
"Thanks Bro." She grins slightly as she charges in, coats her fist in dark energy and strikes! Her punch is so strong, it breaks the robot's shell. Then a burst of black fluid comes out of the robot and dowses her.
"EEEEWWWW!! What the !@#$%^& !@#$ is this crap?" She tries to wipe it off, but it is really gooky and sticks to her clothes.
Furious, she catches the robot in Tenabrous Tentacles. and then calls out to Ebon Angel. When Ebon looks she makes a hand gesture like she is squeezing a grape in her fingertips. With a look of glee crossing her face, Ebon nods and raises her hand. Gladness counts down, "Three, two, one..." and then they both squeeze their hands together, causing the tentacles to constrict, breaking the robot into little pieces! Some vaccuum units hit the floor and scurry off. And there is a toaster in the middle of the mess.
Suddenly the basic shell of the robot vibrates violently, and then a burst of flame erupts and hits Gladness. With her dark armor, she hardly feels the flames.
Her oil soaked clothes, on the other hand...
Gladness finds herself naked in a bar that is covered in water, with almost everyone on this level of the ship looking in to see what is going on. She covers her breasts and her crotch with her hands, and backs up to the wall whimpering like she is in pain. "RAISE YOUR CLOAK OF DARKNESS! AND TAKE THIS!"
She looks over and sees that Doc has a black cocktail dress that he pulled out of his dimensional storage. She nods, and disappears into a dark cloud. Doc throws the dress at the cloud, which is pulled in. A few seconds later the cloud is gone, and Gladness is wearing the dress. A bit wrinkled, but still much better than nothing!
"Doc, thank you, but why do you have clothing for me in your storage?"
He looks at her sternly, and then chuckles as he says, "How long have we been siblings? And how many times do your clothes get wrecked in a fight?"
