Have you ever purchased a "Deluxe" package for a game? If yes, what enticed you to select it over the basic package or bundle?

YES! I buy, to expand the games features, Maps, Powers, New Race/class, and missions. Also, it's great to have Action Figures/Toys from games I enjoy. 👍👍🤴 10⭐

Anything that can serve as a nice souvenir works - a map, or figurine, etc. I do have to be already invested in the game lore ahead of time for that to be worth a purchase though.

During the longest public Beta, I created and played each of the archetypes and powersets. From that, I created a powerpoint presentation which has the powers and their statistics. I did update the cast times for the powers, but I know at least the damage values have changed. This document can be used to plan out different characters with what powers to select, what attack chains you may want to use, and how you may want to slot the powers.

Having all that information available where you can see everything easily (in a pdf?) may be worth a deluxe package. Along with displaying what you get at each level (power or 2 slots) up to level cap and a list of all the emotes and slash commands. Travel powers, special powers and any pool powers can be included. As a bonus, any tricks for having powers and/or emotes on auto would be nice. So, you can /crowdcheer the night away if you want.

This wouldn't be anything that will give you any advantages in the game, but it could help for roleplaying purposes.

Wow! That is some serious commitment to the game! 🙂 As an indication of what is valuable to players, the actual point of this discussion, your comments are very informative. Thank you for making them. The auto powers would be an interesting idea if we were to offer a deluxe package.

well with CoH and / or CoV I got a heroclix figure, playing cards, an art book, cov game manuel, I seem to recall getting a map of the game zones. looking through the cov box now the old coh box got lost / destoyed long ago. with Wow... a pet? or a mount. in game items only I think. poster?

I purchased sperately the CoH binder with all the zones and powersets in the game at the time, as well as descriptions and powers of all the villain groups.

so in short. something that would make me want to spend the extra money. preferably something that I could use in game. be it a special costume, or a flashy item - nothing game breaking. fireworks for instance. set of 5 fireworks / mortars that you can line up on the ground and shoot off one at a time with the push of a button - or all at once. no damage just visual. with a cool down of an hour or even 24 hours. so you don't get spammed by them. maybe lessen the cooldown on certain days.

So far, I am getting that buying a deluxe package is the exception but not the rule for both of you. What, specifically, in the deluxe package, could prompt you to buy it? A special skin? a physical object associated with the game, something else?

I bought the deluxe package for CoV a little while after it was released. I also received the deluxe package for Homeworld as a birthday gift. Oh, and I bought the deluxe package for Half-Life 2. I believe that's it.

If I'm purchasing a game and there is a deluxe version, I consider what's being offered with the deluxe version and what the cost difference is.

Yes I have, it kind of depended on what was offered. in general I bought the delux package after I already had the game and played for a while. only bought a few that I recall. One for CoH, and one for CoV and one for WoW.

To be clear, we are not currently considering offering such a premium bundle. Our plan is still to have everything included in the download + monthly subscription. The question is more about finding out what our community values.
